West Coast and former Hawthorn midfielder Xavier Ellis has today announced his retirement from AFL football after 120 games of senior football.
Announcing his retirement via Instagram, Ellis says that he has had amazing highs, and a few too many lows, but it was well worth the work.
Ellis featured in Hawthorn's 2008 premiership side against the Cats where he was almost crowned best on ground during that match.
I'm done!! Thank you all involved at @hawthornfc and @westcoasteagles for the 11 tremendous years. Amazing highs and a few to many lows (🤕) but was well worth the work. These legs need a rest now. X OUT 🎤 (mic drop)
