West Coast coach Adam Simpson has revealed the club have brought forward a planned list management meeting as they try to find the best strategy to cover for the long-term loss of ruckman Nic Naitanui.

Naitanui will miss up to a year after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, and Simpson will use this week's meeting to decide whether the Eagles need to trade in an established ruckman, or whether there's enough ruck depth on their list.

Scott Lycett will lead the ruck in Friday night's clash with the Crows in Adelaide, while Jonathan Giles and Mitch Brown are in the frame for back-up roles.
